Voice training for confident church speaking
Voice coaching for Clergy, Readers and Leaders
For many clergy, readers and leaders the demands on the voice seem ever-increasing. Use of the voice in many varied and less than perfect acoustic environments, endless meetings, informal and formal, telephone calls and the need to engage effectively with people at all levels. Many ordinands, readers and leaders, frequently feel the pressure and challenge of constant voice use thus causing voice strain and sometimes voice loss from time to time. Although for many within the Church, sophisticated sound systems have made voice projection easier - the need for clarity of diction, varied pace and pitch is still as important as conviction and presence. Our Courses are designed to help voice users in the Church:
- Understand the working mechanism of the voice
- Maintain vocal health
- Avoid problems resulting from extensive use
- Use the voice effectively to encourage, inform and inspire
- Adapt breathing and posture for easy and relaxed performance
- Acquire vocal techniques for effective and varied delivery
Demonstration, participation and lots of relevant practical advice will strengthen the vocal skills repertoire and help increase the confidence of all those involved in speaking in Places of Worship.
Resource packs with supportive materials, practical tips and exercises will be provided.
